I've been into the arts, ever since I was a little kid. My first love was drawing and painting. As a young child, I was always drawing something, upon the requests of my friends and classmates. With my photography, I grew up watching my Dad do it, which has given me a love for the medium. It has helped me to look beyond what can be seen in an initial glance and I give time to see within something. Wherever my family happen to live around the world, my father would end up building a darkroom in some closet or room. Nature and Landscape's, are my favorite topics for photography. Besides being into the Arts, I've always had a fond love for the Earth Sciences, especially Geology and Botany. In my both of my paintings, "Elderly Nude Beside a Dying Rose" and "Native Nude Descending a Stone Staircase Beside Rafflesia", they convey a sensual theme, as well as some sort of plant. The artist's, Marcel Duchamp and Picasso, are great inspirations for me and their artwork have been major motivating factors in my own art, with Duchamps, "Nude Descending a Staircase" and Picasso's Cubist movement.
All four years of my Art education at Southern Oregon University, I was the Assistant Preparator at the Schneider Museum of Art. I enjoyed working with the exhibiting artists and coordinating the look of their shows. I presently solely work as artist, in the mediums of abstract drawings and paintings, as well as a fairly successful Portrait and Nature/Landscape Photographer. My artwork can be seen in finer homes and business' in Oregon and Los Angeles, with a handful of International Clients. |
